“Aah…finally,” Taryn breathed. She’d been doing take after take, trying to get it perfect before she sent it off. She switched off the speakers. “Oh, by the way- the water bill came today. You got any money?” she asked, straightening up.

Scotty lifted his shirt up and reached under his waistband, pulling out a wad of one hundreds and handing it to her. He slid his beeper off, placing it on the coffee table.

“You want to eat out tonight?” he asked.

“Nah, I made some lasagna. I’ve had mine already- the rest is over there,” Taryn said nodding towards the table as she flicked through the bills in her hands, curiously.
